Selangor





Negeri Selangor is one of thirteen states that make up Malaysia. Although there is some opinion about the origin of the name of Selangor, but history proves that it is taken in conjunction with the name of the Selangor River.
This state also bordered by Perak to the north, Pahang in the east, Negeri Sembilan in the south and the Strait of Malacca to the west. . Selangor is located on the west coast of Peninsula Malaysia. Selangor has been called the gateway to Malaysia, given its strategic location on all major travel routes. Selangor's climate is characterized by warm, sunny days, and cool nights all year round and occasional rain in the evenings. Temperature ranges from 23°C to 33°C. Humidity usually exceeds 80%. Annual rainfall is 2,700 mm. Although rain falls throughout the year, December to February are said to be the wettest months.

Selangor is the Malaysian state with many superlatives: it is the most developed in the country, it has the largest port and airport, it houses most institutions of higher learning in Malaysia, its infrastructure and communications facilities are among the best in the region, and so on. Selangor is the most populated and prosperous state of Malaysia. It is home to the largest port in the country, Port Klang.But Selangor is also one of the most fascinating and scenic destinations in Malaysia, providing visitors a delightful, never-ending discovery. Shopping in Selangor is all about fun.Branded goods, crafts, souvenirs, retails stores, fashion outlets, IT stores are all in the list in Selangor's shopping malls. Hence, transportations are now made easy at the entrance of all shopping malls.

Batu Caves: The Batu Caves are a series of tall limestone caves, home to a Hindu temple.



Kuala Selangor: Kuala Selangor was once home of the Selangor Sultanate. There are two fortresses atop the town's two hills. The larger one on Bukit Melawati has now been converted into a royal mausoleum housing the remains of Selangor's early Bugis rulers.



Taman Alam: At the foot of Bukit Melawati lies the nature reserve of Taman Alam, covering 240 hectares. Taman Alam has well-marked jungle trails for trekking as well as observation hides for birdwatchers. The reserve's abundant birdlife is due largely to the mangrove swamp in the vicinity, which is frequented by hundreds of thousands of migratory birds.


Sunway Lagoon: Sunway Lagoon, located in Petaling Jaya, is the first international standard water theme park in Malaysia. Within the park are water-based attractions like giant waterslides, twin speed slides, a double twister, and a wave pool.



The Mines Wonderlands: Located at Sungei Besi, the Mines is a modern recreational park built on the site of what was once the world's largest opencast tin-mining lake. Its attractions are both natural and man-made.



Zoo Negara: Located at Ulu Klang, near Taman Melawati.It was established in 1963.Zoo Negara is amongst the most exciting zoos of Southeast Asia.
