Satay or sate is a dish consisting of diced or sliced meat.They are made from pieces of meat like chicken,goat and cows.Some people also make rabbit and deer as a sate. Usually chicken and beef satay are the most common.It is believe that satay is originated from Indonesia.But it can be found in many southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia, Singapore,Brunei and Thailand. Satay is a very popular delicacy in Indonesia and Malaysia.It can easily be found anywhere in Malaysia such as night market (pasar malam), stall, and at restaurant. It is a very inexpensive dish, normally it prices between RM0.50-RM0.80 each.A thin skewers made from coconut leaf are use to put the meat (satay) then burned over a wood or charcoal fire. Those skewers of meat are best eating with peanut sauce and ketupat (compressed rice).
